For a more tranquil experience of Tanzania, there are several beautiful beaches which are best located in the Zanzibar Archipelago. On the Island of Zanzibar you have a whole host of activities to choose from. You may yearn for the simple pleasure of lounging on a sun kissed beach or perhaps you want to take part in many of the water sports ideally suited to this island. Scuba diving is one of the main activities enjoyed in Zanzibar and regular diving excursions are operated throughout the island. Snorkelling is available also and is a great activity for families to take part in. Or how about fulfilling that dream of swimming with Dolphins? To enter Tanzania you must have a Visa. As well as this you must also have a valid International Health Certificate indicating vaccinations against yellow fever. As with most African countries, malaria is customary in Tanzania and it is recommended that vaccinations are sought before travel.
The climate on Tanzania is hot and for most of the year dry. The ideal time to visit this remarkable country would be during January and February. This time of year is still considerably hot, but more tolerable than the later scorching months. The rain generally stops in the months of July to October and this is another ideal time to visit Tanzania, although be prepared for rain year round and bring waterproofs just in case.
The currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian shilling. For families on a budget, Tanzania proves no problem at all for reasonable and comfortable accommodation, eating and drinking and activities.
