The Seychelles is situated of the East coast of Africa and are a group of islands located in the Indian Ocean northeast of Madagascar.

The Seychelles is mother nature in all her glory and can be rivalled by no other place on earth. With a shower of granite and coral islands throughout the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles is considered the be the definitive tropical paradise.

The palm lined beaches and crystal clear water that entwine them have brought millions of travellers to the shores of the islands. As well as the superb beaches, the Seychelles also has an abundance of wilderness and wildlife just waiting for you to explore.

Anse Lazio is by all standards the best beach in Africa. Located in the far north, this celebrated beach has pristine white silky sand and the clearest aqua marine waters. Swimming in the sea here is like taking a long soak in the bath. The water is that warm and still that you could be mistaken for thinking you were on the set of a film. In this area you can take part in snorkelling and diving, both are hugely popular on the island.

Beau Vallon is one of the leading beaches to be found in the Seychelles. The sand is fine, sparkling and more or less free of any rocks. The sea is clear and safe to swim in and there are raised platforms in the middle of the ocean which you can swim to for a rest or to enjoy another fantastic view of the Seychelles. The beach is located 2 miles from the capital city of Victoria and buses regularly make trips there. As the distance isn?t to far, it might be more enjoyable to take a leisurely stroll to the beach rather than sit on a stifling bus.

For a quieter and more attractive beach then travel further south of the island. These areas are much more suited to water sport activities such a snorkelling, swimming and diving. Here you can explore the quirky marine life which reside in the depths if the clear ocean.

The climate in the Seychelles in tropical and humid. The best time to visit would be during the cool months of late May to September, this being during the Southeast monsoon. The most expensive time to travel to the Seychelles is during December, January and August so it might be best to try and avoid these times. Although it is important to remember that you are paying for the exclusivity of the island rather than the standards.

You do not require a Visa for entering the Seychelles, but you are required to show your return ticket. The currency used in the Seychelles is the Seychelles rupee.

The official language of the Seychelles is English, although French and Creole are still widely spoken with the locals. As Creole is such an important aspect to the Seychelles life, you can enjoy the many fantastic Creole dishes the island is very proud to produce.
